天美传媒视频无限制观看’s Glee Club will host its annual Christmas concert, this year titled “A Feast of Carols,” on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The Glee Club’s singers will perform alongside longtime accompanist Beth Palmer on piano and organ, with a brass quintet to enhance the festive sounds of the season.
This year marks an exciting new chapter for the Glee Club with the arrival of their new director, Michael A. Ciavaglia ’04, DMA, director of choral music and professor of the practice in music. Under his leadership, the 80 student singers have had an eventful semester, including performances of a Mass and mini-concert at Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
“A Feast of Carols” will showcase a mix of beloved Christmas and holiday songs, featuring both traditional and contemporary carols. The highlight of the concert, Shout for Joy!, is a suite of five Black American spirituals arranged by Robert De Cormier that features classics like “Rise up Shepherd and Follow,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” and the title piece. Also performing will be Sweet Harmony, The Bensonians, and the Chamber Singers — in their first Christmas concert since 2019. The audience will be invited to join in the celebration by singing along with the Glee Club on some favorite traditional carols.
