Fairfield to Face Nebraska at NCAA's Friday

Making their second consecutive NCAA postseason appearance, the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 volleyball team has drawn eighth-seeded University of Nebraska in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. The Stags first round match is Friday, December 6 at 8 p.m. ET at the in Lincoln, Neb.

Tickets for the first and second rounds in Lincoln will go on sale on Monday morning at 8 am. They will be available on , by calling the Nebraska Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED or visiting the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office in person. All-session ticket prices are set at $34 (reserved A and B sections) and $30 (C section) and include the two first-round games, as well as the second-round match-up between the first-round winners.

"It's been a long week of waiting to find out where we are going, but now we are excited that we'll be going to Lincoln to play Nebraska," said Head Coach , the winningest coach in program history. "Most of the team experienced the NCAA Tournament last year and we've played some pretty tough opponents this year, so we know what to expect. The team cannot wait to get back on the court and represent Fairfield and the MAAC in the NCAA Tournament."

The Cornhuskers are 23-6 overall, with a 13-2 mark at home and finished its Big 10 slate with a 16-4 mark. The winner of the first round match between the Stags and Cornhuskers will advance to face the winner of the other opening round site between Oregon and Miami. The Ducks are 19-11 entering the tournament, with a 12-8 record in the Pac 12, while the Orange went 19-11 on the season and 12-8 in the ACC.

Fairfield (19-12; 14-4 MAAC) won their second consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship title by defeating Marist College, 3-0, on November 24. Entering the NCAA Tournament, the Stags have captured 16 of their last 17 matches.

天美传媒视频无限制观看 is making its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Last season, the Stags made their first NCAA appearance in more than a decade. Fairfield drew sixth-seeded USC in the first round but fell to the Women of Troy, 3-0, in Los Angeles.

The first round match marks the first time that the Stags will face Nebraska in volleyball.聽 A second round matchup with either Oregon or Miami would also be a program first for the Stags.
