“Stop Kiss” is a raw, poignant, funny and moving play written by American playwright Diana Son and first performed in 1998.  Throughout the play, characters work to build relationships, find companionship, and ultimately find a connection in the world. Diana Son sensitively explores the depths of human emotion, empathy, and compassion, posing many interesting questions along the way: how much can change because of one kiss?  How quickly can friends become something more? Who comes into your life and forever changes it?

“`Stop Kiss’ is a play about people finding the courage to live and to love the way their hearts direct them,” says director Cat Miller, “bravely and freely even in the face of fear, doubt, discrimination, and hate.” Miller hopes this production honors both the darkness and the light presented in the script, and embraces the complexity that ensues when these two things live next to each other. Miller believes this show is being produced at a crucial point in time, given both the national movement towards more equal rights for homosexual individuals and couples, and also the upsetting spate of hate crimes in the New York area over the last year, and she considers herself lucky to be in a profession that allows her to tell stories such as this one.

Joining Director Cat Miller in bringing this production to life are Lynne Porter, Production Designer, and Kevin Schneck, Production Manager and Technical Director.

The cast consists of: Alec Bandzes ’15 (George); Molly Gregory ’16 (Sara); Véronique Poutré ’16 (Callie Pax); Tori Schuchmann ’16 (Mrs. Winsley/Nurse); Brendan McNamara ’17 (Peter); and Sebastian Salvo ’17 (Detective Cole).

Tickets are available through the Quick Center Box Office: (203) 254-4010, or toll-free 1-877-ARTS-396.  (1-877-278-7396). Tickets can also be purchased online at .
