In print, on-line, and in person, the brilliance of Sarah Kay 鈥檚 expressive words and enthusiasm has made her one of today鈥檚 leading voices in spoken word poetry. Her appearance at the 2011 Conference in Long Beach, CA, has received over 3 million video views on TED.com and its TED embed player, to date, and her first book, B , was ranked the top poetry collection on Amazon.com. At 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, Sarah Kay shares her unique and highly-engaging voice in a live stage appearance聽at 天美传媒视频无限制观看鈥檚 Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts . Sarah Kay first performed her poetry at the age of 14. Originally from New York, she became a regular performer at the Bowery Poetry Club, a renowned poetry center in Manhattan. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brown University, with her MA in the Art of Teaching Secondary English. She is an alum of the United Nations International School and a graduate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, and is a recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Grinnell College. As she also notes on her website, , Sarah Kay is a witty banter enthusiast, a postcard lover, a documentary filmmaker, a foodie, a playwright, a singer, a songwriter, a photographer, a Gemini, a mediocre driver at best, a musical theater geek, a smoothie expert, the daughter of a Taoist mother and a Brooklynese father, a hapa, and less cool than her little brother.

Sarah Kay has appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, the Nantucket Project, and the United Nations, and was a featured poet on the sixth season of Russell Simmons presents HBO Def Poetry Jam and was featured on the homepages of and . She founded and now co-directs with Phil Kaye (Vocal Outreach Into Creative Expression), an international movement that celebrates and inspires youth self-expression through Spoken Word Poetry, and her second book, No Matter the Wreckage , will be available in March of 2014. She has spoken at the 2011 Cannes Lions Creativity Festival in France and the 2012 Bonnier GRID Conference. She has performed in the UK, the Czech Republic, the United Arab Emirates, France, Singapore, Australia, Mexico, the British Virgin Islands, South Africa, Sweden, Spain, Nepal, and India, and judged the for young filmmakers. She is also an editor for Write Bloody Publishing and has been an education advocate and keynote speaker for education organizations.
