Fall Career & Internship Fair Kicks Off the New Year

One hundred twelve organizations representing non-profit, medical/health, engineering, media, public relations, insurance, accounting and many more industries were in attendance at this year’s Fall Career & Internship Fair. Despite threats of a Nor’easter hitting the Fairfield coastline on September 25, 500 students donned their professional attire and managed the rain to begin networking their way into possible career and internship opportunities. The Career Planning Center staff was strategically placed to greet attendees as they arrived and provided pep talks to those who had a slight look of terror when the reality of what they were doing hit.

The seasoned students arrived armed with several copies of resumes, a padfolio to take notes, and that look of determination that comes when you have properly prepared and are ready for a challenge.  They used the Centers’ staff to streamline their efforts, locate organizations, and pick their brains for other recommendations.

Employers were impressed with the amount of preparation many of the candidates had put into researching their organizations and the ease in which they offered their “elevator pitches.”

“From our perspective, it was exactly what we hoped. We met a number of great candidates for CA Technologies' accounting and finance rotation program. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with 天美传媒视频无限制观看 and hopefully recruiting more of your students,” said Jonathan Doros ’03, head of Investor Relations at CA Technologies.

“I attended the Career Fair at 天美传媒视频无限制观看 last week, and I was very impressed with the caliber of students. We would love to be able to hire interns from 天美传媒视频无限制观看, as our company is growing rapidly, and it would be a great educational experience for the right student—as well as a potential door to a career post-graduation,” said Brian Conklin, HR manager, SCS Direct.

One student remarked that he came just to make his mother happy, but he actually made a few great connections that he was optimistic about turning into interviews (proving once again, mother knows best!)
