Late Night Programming by Students for Students

Fairfield at Night is a late-night programming initiative implemented by a group of students who organize weekend events for residents on campus that are alcohol-free and fun. Fairfield at Night's events are free of charge and aim to engage students from 10  p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The events are fun, upbeat, diverse, and exciting, and give students the opportunity to meet new friends and hang with old ones.

‌The Fairfield at Night staff consists of approximately 15 event managers and 15-20 general staff members. Event managers plan and market late night-programming such as Fairfield Flicks and South Side Café. The general event staff work the weekend events. Their main job is to set up, work the event, and help clean up afterwards. Fairfield at Night managers meet weekly with Colleen Wilson and Reece Painter, program coordinators in Student Programs & Leadership Development. Colleen Wilson oversees the South Side Café and Reece Painter oversees Fairfield Flicks.

is a very popular program that takes place in Faber Hall. The common space is converted into a café setting, providing an informal environment where students can socialize. It has Yogibo beanbag chairs and throw pillows. Students can order food and beverages, listen to music, and participate in many creative activities. “We have found that live music is what students have requested at South Side Café, so we made sure that we included that in our schedule,” said Wilson. Fairfield at Night has seen a surge in popularity, with the fall opening event bringing in 202 visitors!
