Five Home Games Set for Presidents’ Day Weekend

The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ basketball and lacrosse teams will be on display for local fans, students and alumni as the four teams host a total of five games during Presidents’ Day Weekend. Tickets for all five games are on sale now at .

The weekend begins on George R. Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall, where the Fairfield women’s basketball team hosts Saint Peter’s in the Stags’ annual Play4Kay Game at 7 p.m. The team will be collecting donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and promoting breast cancer awareness through a partnership with Bridgeport Hospital’s Norma Pfriem Breast Care Center.

The Stags, who enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak, will then wrap-up their 2015-16 home schedule on Sunday for a visit from Monmouth. Fairfield women’s basketball will celebrate the careers of senior standouts Lizzy Ball and Kristin Schatzlein prior to the 2 p.m. MAAC contest with the Hawks.

On Monday, action moves outdoors to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium for the season-opening Fairfield Lacrosse doubleheader. The defending CAA regular season champions from Fairfield men’s lacrosse host Richmond at 11 a.m. followed by Fairfield women’s lacrosse – the reigning MAAC champions – challenging LIU Brooklyn at 2 p.m.

All fans in attendance can enjoy free hot chocolate courtesy of Sodexo. Fairfield students will also receive a free Stags knit hat from Stags in the Stands. The promotions will be held during both games of the doubleheader while supplies last.

The busy weekend concludes on Monday evening at Webster Bank Arena as Fairfield men’s basketball hosts MAAC foe Marist at 7 p.m. The action from Bridgeport will be broadcast live to a nationwide audience on ESPN3 and SportsNet New York (SNY). Head Coach Sydney Johnson’s Stags, who visit in-state foe Quinnipiac on Saturday, are currently in top half of the MAAC standings with a 7-7 conference mark as a part of a 13-11 overall record.
