7 Days — Let's Do This!

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ began a month-long challenge on June 1st to boost the number of Fairfield alumni donors by 1,000 by June 30th, the end of the fiscal year. The goal is to raise the alumni participation rate from 15% to 18%. Alumni participation is a strong marker for a university’s strength and one used in rankings and other measurements.

The University is very excited to report that hundreds of alumni have risen to the challenge. As of June 23rd, 643 alumni have made a gift to help strengthen the stature of Fairfield, and more importantly, to ensure the continuation of the wide array of excellent academics, resources and activities so vital to our students’ experience at Fairfield.

With seven days left, 357 more alumni donors are needed for the goal to be met. Gifts of any size will count towards the goal.

Participation rates are important, not only because of the impact of the donations themselves, but because colleges and universities are ranked based on a number of factors, and alumni participation is one of those critical metrics. Last year, 15% of Fairfield alumni supported the University through donations. By comparison, schools like Holy Cross (49%), Boston College (26%), Villanova (22%) and Providence College (18%) boasted higher participation rates.

"The loyalty and bond that our graduates feel towards Fairfield, and each other, should be reflected in a much higher alumni giving participation rate, and we are working hard to make that happen for the benefit of our students,” says Vice President for University Advancement, Wally Halas.

For every alumni who participates in the challenge, our challenger will contribute $25, up to $25,000.  Click here to learn more and participate .
