Boston Marathon Survivor Jeffrey Bauman to Speak March 23

天美传媒视频无限制观看 is honored to welcome Boston Marathon survivor and national hero, Jeffrey Bauman, to speak on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. The lecture will be held in the lower level of Barone Campus Center and will begin at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Bauman was at the finish line of the Boston Marathon waiting for his girlfriend to finish the race, when he saw an ominous figure dressed in dark clothing drop a backpack only feet away from where he was standing. Moments later the first of two explosions that day rocked Boylston Street, gravely injuring Bauman who would later lose both of his legs. After believing he was going to die, a peace activist by the name of Carlos Arrendondo appeared and brought him to an ambulance. Bauman had exclaimed to the EMTs that he knew who placed the bombs.

After waking up from surgery, Bauman was able to provide the Federal Bureau of Investigation a description of the two men to a sketch artist, which led to the identification of the suspects. Days later the reign of terror in Boston was over.

Since the tragic events of the Boston Marathon, Bauman has become a national hero and a beacon of hope, strength and resilience. He wrote the book Stronger and travels across the country sharing his story with different audiences in a presentation that will be sure to uplift and inspire all those who attend.
