Patricia Dalton ’18 Elected New District 1 Representative
ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ Student Alumni Ambassador Patricia Dalton ’18 began her position as the newly elected 2016-2018 District 1 CASE ASAP on May 1. CASE ASAP student ambassadors are members from their university's student alumni associations that work toward strengthening the connection between current students and alumni. Preceding Dalton's election, the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´'s Student Alumni Association was recently honored as recipients of the 2016 Outstanding Organization Award at the District 1 Conference at Bentley University in March.
The CASE ASAP Executive Board elects 8 student leaders from each district every two years. In her upcoming role, Dalton '18 will work with and represent the 26 schools that have student advancement organizations at colleges and universities within District 1. As a District 1 ambassador, Dalton '18 will represent the Northern Atlantic, which includes Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Southwestern Canada.
“I am thrilled to be representing District 1 and ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ on a national scale. If you had asked me two years ago if I could see myself serving on a national representative board today, I might have laughed because it sounds so far fetched. I think this really speaks to the opportunities available at Fairfield for students. I feel incredibly lucky and honored to be taking on this responsibility,” said Dalton '18.
Dalton’s goal is to grow District 1, expand their communication, increase opportunities to work together, and show everyone the benefit and impact that having and being a part of a program like Student Alumni Association can have on not only the students but on the University. Dalton stated, “I would love to see District 1 grow over the next two years. There are many colleges and universities within the district that either don't have student ambassador, alumni, and philanthropy groups or are not involved with CASE ASAP. I hope to encourage more involvement in the District 1 conference and national conference because both are incredible learning and networking opportunities for groups.” Additionally, Dalton '18 will attend the annual CASE ASAP meeting at CASE Headquarters in Washington, D.C. in January.
