Paths to Success in Accounting - Nov. 17

There is never just one path to success 鈥斅爀specially in the business world. On Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the Dolan School of Business Dining Room, professionals from the 鈥淏ig 4鈥 accounting firms will share with students their unique routes to success as part of the Dolan School鈥檚 Dean鈥檚 Lecture entitled 鈥淧aths to Success in Accounting.鈥

Featuring four panelists from Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC, panelists will be joined by student moderators who will lead a three-part discussion that introduces students to the panelists, presents a chance for general questions and concludes with a question and answer session from the audience.

鈥淭his is a great opportunity for our accounting students to discover different ways to succeed in this ever-changing profession,鈥 shared Don Gibson, dean of the Dolan School. 鈥淭he panelists, three of which are alumni, represent different levels of experience at the Big 4 firms, and can provide excellent exemplars for our students.鈥 Tessa Criticos '03, MA 鈥04 of KPMG, Larry Dunn 鈥00 of EY, Maria Martorello of Deloitte and Evron Trim 鈥08, MA 09鈥 of PwC will comprise the panel.

Joe Pisano 鈥18, student panelist, shared "As a future accounting intern, I am interested in hearing how each firm is adapting their tax and audit practices as technology advances, and how that may or may not effect the work of employees."

Student panelist and senior Brie Tancredi, who will be starting a full time position with Deloitte after a year of聽graduate school at Fairfield, said 鈥淚 am interested to learn where the panelists started in their respective聽companies and the journey they鈥檝e taken to be in their current roles today."

The Dean鈥檚 Lecture is free and open to the public. Students should register on OrgSync.
