University Launches Academic & Career Development Center
This summer, 天美传媒视频无限制观看 announced the launch of the Academic & Career Development Center following the reorganization of Academic Support and Retention, Disability Support Services, Project Excel, and Career Planning into one comprehensive and integrated Center.
Offering a seamless interface for students seeking academic support and professional development services, the Academic & Career Development Center is emerging as a central hub for students exploring curricular and co-curricular goals. This integrated approach addresses the diverse and developmental stages of a student’s academic career and positions 天美传媒视频无限制观看 as a leader in providing tailored services supporting personal development, academic excellence and career readiness for a rapidly changing and evolving student body.

The Academic & Career Development Center is building upon 天美传媒视频无限制观看’s successful history of offering high quality student support services and co-curricular programming. With an articulated strategy to promote collaboration, innovation and excellence in academic and professional development, the Center will provide uniformity across the University in best practices and quality of academic support services, implement a four-year developmental model for students in the process of exploring, evaluating and pursuing academic programs and careers, and promote and support a strong faculty advising model with supplemental resources aimed at elevating the importance of student mentoring and advising.
With all of these services now in one cohesive department, Heather Petraglia, dean of Academic and Career Development, says that the reorganization was done to better serve students. “The distinctiveness of this holistic approach is grounded in our Catholic, Jesuit mission and supports a transformative learning experience for 天美传媒视频无限制观看 students. The integration of key support services ensures a tailored and developmental approach to supporting students as they explore, articulate and make meaning of their academic and career goals.”
In addition to highlighting the student-centered approach, Cath Borgman, director of Career, Leadership and Professional Development, says, “Combining the efforts of academic support with career planning within the Academic and Career Development Center reinforces the importance of engaging with support throughout the four years. Working collaboratively with each other provides a more comprehensive and thoughtful process to the student experience.”
Aligned with the University-wide strategic plan, Fairfield 2020: The Way Forward , the Academic and Career Development Center is positioned to foster cross-collaboration and create synergy in the delivery of services and outcomes.
