Women’s Soccer Team Hosts Kids’ Day Out

The Fairfield women’s soccer team hosted its first-ever “Kids’ Day Out” this past weekend, welcoming 150 local youths to campus. The students from Jennings School in Fairfield and Cesar A. Batalla School in Bridgeport cheered on the Stags as they played MAAC opponent Saint Peter’s University to a 1-1 draw.

In addtion to the match, the day included campus tours hosted by Fairfield students and student-athletes, a halftime relay race on the pitch at Lessing Field and a visit from Lucas the Stag.

The inaugural Kids’ Day Out for the Stags’ women’s soccer programs is one of many community initiatives within the Fairfield Department of Athletics.  Fairfield women’s basketball has hosted a Kids’ Day Out in each of the last two campaigns; details regarding the third annual event will be announced later this month.

Fans with questions or suggestions for community engagement initiatives for Fairfield Athletics can contact Abigail Corning, Coordinator of Marketing and Fan Experience at abigail.corning@fairfield.edu or (203) 254-4000 ext. 2265.
