Stags Celebrate Second Annual ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ Night at Citi Field

More than 600 members of the Fairfield community gathered at Citi Field on Tuesday night for the second annual ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ Night. Lucas the Stag was once again called upon to throw out the first pitch before a crowd of 30,761 fans before the hometown New York Mets challenged the Atlanta Braves.

Joining Lucas on the field as the catcher for the ceremonial first pitch was Fairfield Head Baseball Coach, Bill Currier. The 2016 MAAC Coach of the Year, Currier led the Stags to the MAAC Championship and their first-ever NCAA postseason appearance this past spring.

Fairfield fans who purchased tickets through the Mets’ University Nights program received a commemorative New York Mets hat featuring a Fairfield logo embroidered on the side.

Fairfield will look to continue an annual trip to Citi Field during the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Details will be finalized and announced during the spring semester.
