Fairfield's Bennett Center for Judaic Studies Announces 2018 Spring Season

Chuck Todd, moderator of Meet the Press, will present the annual Bennet Lecture.

天美传媒视频无限制观看's Bennett Center for Judaic Studies has announced its spring season of lectures with a roster of engaging speakers sharing their insights on riveting topics. The exciting schedule includes the annual Bennett Lecture in Judaic Studies to be presented by Chuck Todd, moderator of Meet the Press , host of MTP Daily on MSNBC, and political director for NBC News. He will present “Politics and Jewish Identity in Today’s America” on Tuesday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

In addition, there are anticipated lectures by Dr. Ken Frieden, B.G. Rudolph Professor of Judaic Studies, Syracuse University, author of Travels in Translation with musical performance on hammer dulcimer by Pete Rushefsky. The season will also feature the Annual Holocaust Remembrance Service with featured speaker Esther Geizhals who survived Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen.

The events speak to the Bennett Center’s mission to enrich the intellectual, cultural, and spiritual life of the campus and greater community. Ellen M. Umansky, PhD, has served as both the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Professor of Judaic Studies at Fairfield and the director of the Bennett Center since its inception in 1994.

All of the events are free except for the Bennett Lecture in Judaic Studies presented by Chuck Todd. Tickets for this lecture are $15 and can be purchased from the Box Office.
