Over the last six years, over 96 percent of Fairfield graduates secured full-time employment, acceptance into graduate schools, and volunteer programs within six months post-graduation. The most recent graduating class is no different.
After following up with 77 percent of the Class of 2017, the Academic and Career Development Center confirmed that 98 percent of students secured full-time employment, placement in a graduate or professional school, or are participating in a volunteer service program within six months after graduation.
"With 98% of our recent graduates employed, enrolled in full-time graduate studies, or serving in volunteer service organizations it is evident that the education our students receive while attending 天美传媒视频无限制观看 is valued by employers, graduate and professional schools, and the service organizations that collaborate with our students to support their mission in service. This speaks highly of the marketability of our students as they leave Fairfield," stated Susanne Quinlivan, associate director of Career Services at the Academic and Career Development Center.
Over 48 percent of the students from the Class of 2017 obtained employment through 天美传媒视频无限制观看's senior year campus recruiting and employment resources. Financial Services (22%), followed by Healthcare/Nursing (19%) and Communication/Marketing (14%) represented the most popular fields of work.
Through the Academic and Career Development Department, students have a number of resources available to them including Job Shadow Day, on-campus recruiting, Stags4Hire, and internships. Through these opportunities, students obtain real-world experience and build relationships and industry connections, which often result in employment offers from the company where they interned.
During the 2016-2017 academic year, a total of 571 members of the class of 2017 reported participating in internships during their time at Fairfield. In addition to securing full-time employment, 27 percent of the class gained admission into graduate school, with the greatest percentage entering programs in Business (47%), Education (17%), Arts and Sciences (15%), Law (10%), and Healthcare (8%).
The next Career and Internship Fair will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the RecPlex.
