Fairfield Celebrates National Engineering Week, Feb. 19 - 25

Fairfield's School of Engineering (SOE) will participate in Discover E's National Engineering Week (Feb. 19 - 25) , which celebrates how engineers make a difference in our world, increases public dialogue about the need for engineers and brings engineering to life for kids, educators and parents during a series of events.

SOE student clubs will host events throughout the week to boost awareness of student-engineers on campus and on Feb. 25, Fairfield will host a screening of Discover E's engineering documentary Dream Big at the聽IMAX theater at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Conn.

The film, created in partnership with the American Society of Civil Engineers and presented by the Bechtel Corporation, takes viewers on a journey of discovery from the world鈥檚 tallest building to a bridge higher than the clouds and a solar car race across Australia. Dream Big shows more than the ingenuity behind these marvels鈥攊t reveals the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people worldwide.

Local students from area middle and high schools are invited to attend as well as children of 天美传媒视频无限制观看 alumni, faculty and staff who have an interest in engineering, free of charge, to screen the film, tour the Maritime Aquarium and attend engineering workshops led by Fairfield students.

The event, which begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m., includes transportation to and from the Maritime Aquarium, all activities and admission fees. (Lunch is not included. Students should bring their own lunch or lunch money.) Central High School in Bridgeport and 天美传媒视频无限制观看 will serve as transportation venues.
