Fairfield Participates in AJCU-wide Fitness Challenge

Friendly competition never hurts — especially when it challenges entire universities to increase their fitness routines.

The Go Move Challenge, a fitness competition between 19 Jesuit universities, kicks off on Feb. 1 and continues throughout the month to see which school community exercises the most. The university with the highest total number of minutes exercised as of 11:59 p.m. PST on Feb. 28 will be named the winner of the challenge.

Created in 2013, the Go Move Challenge initiated as a fitness competition between Santa Clara University and the University of San Francisco to determine which university could accumulate the most minutes of movement in one month. Since then, the challenge has expanded to include faculty, staff and students from participating Jesuit universities across the country and accumulated over two million minutes of exercise in February 2016.

Fairfield students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the Go Move Challenge by logging their workouts before they leave the RecPlex using the on site Surface Pro tablet. Exercises that count toward the challenge include cardio activities like running, walking or biking; strength and resistance training; mind/body activities such as yoga, Pilates or karate; and sports/fitness games such as basketball, Zumba or spin class.

Help bring Fairfield to victory by creating a free Go Move Challenge account. Students can register and log their minutes by visiting , while faculty and staff can get started by visiting .

Get moving, Stags.
