“I’m confident that ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ÊÓƵÎÞÏÞÖƹۿ´ will make this program a state-wide success for years to come, and I’m honored that I can be a part of it,” said Rell, the second woman in Connecticut’s history to serve in the executive role of governor. “Women who have the desire to be more involved in local politics or run for office, but need only the political preparation and training, can greatly benefit from this program.”

Developed by Rutgers University’s Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) in 1998, Ready to Run™ is a national network of nonpartisan campaign training programs that equip women with the necessary strategies, knowledge, and networking tools to effectively pursue leadership positions in state and local government. The annual one-day workshop helps participants develop significant leadership skills while gaining an understanding of the impact and importance of diverse voices in politics. In locations where Ready to Run™ is currently offered, 70% of all program participants who chose to run for office after this training won their political races.
