Students Test Their Interview Skills for Jobs on Wall Street

The Dolan School presents 鈥淲all Street Bootcamp: Interviewing for Success,鈥 on September 25 and 26.

You can never be over prepared for any meeting, so why not be most prepared for the meeting that could land you a job

Students seeking jobs on Wall Street will put their interview skills to the test at this year’s Wall Street Bootcamp as they sit down with alumni and business professionals working in finance to conduct mock interviews. Taking place over two days on September 25 and 26, the goal of the event is to provide finance students with real-world interview experience guided by alumni and fellow finance professionals.

Created as a result of strong student interest in succeeding in competitive investment banking job interviews, the event will be structured like a real job interview. Students will receive entry-level job descriptions to prepare for the interview, and at the conclusion of the meeting, they’ll receive real-time feedback from the professionals. This event is ideal for students who want to become more competitive and better prepared during the interview process.

As one alumnus who will be interviewing students explained, interviewing is a skill like anything else that requires practice. “You can never be over prepared for any meeting, so why not be most prepared for the meeting that could land you a job,” said Kyle Siebert ’08, VP of J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

“Mock interviews give you the opportunity to practice in a stress-free environment while allowing you to identify strengths and weaknesses when asked challenging behavioral questions,” explained Siebert. “It is critical for everyone, especially students, to familiarize themselves with the [interview] process in an environment where they can receive constructive feedback to improve their skills. It’s very fulfilling to get to take those first steps together in [a student's] professional development.”

To register for the event and for more information, students should visit OrgSync. Space is limited, don’t delay. This event satisfies a PDS level 3 event.

The Dolan School would like to thank the following organizations for participating in this year’s Wall Street Bootcamp: AXA Advisors, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bridgewater Associates, First Data, Goldman, Sachs & Co., J.P. Morgan Private Bank, Hudson Advisors, Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc., NatWest Markets, Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services, U.S. Trust Private Bank, Wellington Management Company LLP, and Wells Fargo.
