Companies such as Kayak, Epsilon, and Deloitte will help students hone their abilities and prepare to enter the workforce at Annual Mock Interview Day.
On Wednesday, January 31, held in the Kelley Center, 25 local employers will participate in this year’s Mock Interview Day as students from all majors practice their interview skills and gain real time feedback from professionals.
Mock Interview Day, offered by the Academic and Career Development Center, is an opportunity for students to sit face-to-face with a professional in their field and conduct an interview. Interviews will be timed and at the conclusion, students will receive real time feedback on their performance, and the professionals will offer pointers to develop the students' interview skills and confidence.
“It’s so important for students of all class years and majors to participate in Mock Interview Day," stated Deirdre Bennett, manager of Employer Development at the Academic and Career Development Center. "The practice interviews help reduce stress, giving students greater confidence, plus they get instant feedback from real employers. The experience gives students a substantial advantage when they begin seeking internships and jobs.”
Students may sign up for these interviews with the company of their choice through their Stags4Hire accounts. In order to apply for a mock interview, students must have a resume uploaded in Stags4Hire. Students will be allowed to apply for one mock interview.
