Celebrate Our New Tradition, First Fairfield Friday, on Sept. 7

On Friday, September 7, join us for the start of a new tradition...our First Fairfield Friday!

This event kicks off the Fairfield Friday tradition. Celebrate the start of the year through a series of events including a community barbecue, a student activities fair, athletic games, the Mass of the Holy Spirit, and more! This Friday -- and every Friday -- show your Stag spirit by wearing red or your favorite Fairfield gear!

Faculty Engagement Forum and Showcase

Date: Friday, September 7
Time: 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Location: Barone Campus Center Oak Room

Additional Details:

Faculty will explore the many ways to engage further in the academic community at Fairfield. Learn about current academic programming, new initiatives, and how to get involved! Outside of the forum, faculty and staff can browse through a showcase of new and exciting opportunities to engage in campus life.

Mass of the Holy Spirit

The University community is invited to the Mass of the Holy Spirit. This Mass traditionally marks the beginning of the academic year in Catholic universities around the world—a time when we celebrate and join spiritually with millions in colleges and universities worldwide. The Mass of the Holy Spirit exemplifies how as a community we seek to engage in the world around us through our work and aim to be a welcoming, inclusive community.

Community BBQ for Students, Faculty, and Staff

During the activities fair, a community barbeque will be held in the traffic circle. Come grab a burger or a hot dog while exploring the different clubs and organizations Fairfield has to offer.

Up! The Umbrella Project

Time: 5:30, 6:15, 7:00, and 7:45 p.m.
Location: Barone Campus Center Lower Level

With a DJ and screens to share the experience in real-time, Pilobolus leads this incredible large-scale live performance piece as audience members wield lighted umbrellas. Shown through a bird’s-eye view projection, the result is stunning and colorful. Feel how the “whole” is indeed greater than the sum of its parts with UP!
