Five featured panelists will discuss their transitions from college to career and explain how their various language skills helped them achieve their professional goals.

From a United Nations operations coordinator to a senior international sales specialist, the panelists represent a wide breadth of careers and Modern Languages and Literatures programs including French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Alumni scheduled to present include Ali Famiglietti ’14, a reservation executive for luxury tour operator Perfetto Traveler; Shawn Hassett ’10, a senior international sales specialist for Ulbrich Steel; Klevisa Kovaci ’14, operations coordinator of the Youth Assembly at the United Nations; Jennifer Rolinson ’01, a registered nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center; and Maria Zachery ’90, K-12 World Languages Department coordinator for Westport Public Schools.

The panelists’ presentations will be immediately followed by a student Q&A. Light refreshments will be served.

“We are excited to welcome our alumni panelists back to Fairfield to talk about their personal and professional achievements,” said Sara E. Diaz, PhD, assistant professor of the practice of Italian, and Italian language coordinator. “This is a wonderful opportunity for current and prospective students of modern languages to learn from successful graduates about some of the many professional possibilities that lie ahead.”

The Modern Language and Literatures Alumni Career Panel is supported by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, the Humanities Institute of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Italian Studies Program, and the Faculty Committee on Public Lectures and Events.
