#Unload: Guns in the Hands of Artists Exhibition Opening Reception

Mark your calendars for upcoming exhibitions and special programs this September at the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 Art Museum (FUAM).

The FUAM encompasses galleries for the permanent collection and rotating exhibitions in Bellarmine Hall, and the Walsh Gallery for larger special exhibitions in the Quick Center for the Arts. It is an essential academic and cultural resource that brings original works of art to the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 community, and to the residents of Fairfield County and beyond.

Exhibitions showcase works of art in all media from a broad swathe of time periods and world cultures, ancient to contemporary. FUAM partners with local schools and cultural institutions, and serves all audiences through outreach, free admission, and free events.

Sept. 13 at 5 p.m.: Opening Night of Liberia, 1931-33 The Collections of Alfred J. Tulk

The exhibition Liberia, 1931-33 The Collections of Alfred J. Tulk will be on view at the FUAM's Bellarmine Hall Galleries from September 14 to December 14, 2018. Opening Night on Thursday, September 13 will include a free and , beginning at 5 p.m. in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries.

 

Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.: Panel Discussion, "Gun Violence as Public Health Crisis"

Coinciding with the #UNLOAD: Guns in the Hands of Artists FUAM exhibition that opened earlier this summer in the Walsh Gallery, a panel discussion, will take place on Thursday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Oak Room of the Barone Campus Center.

Moderated by Melissa Quan, director of 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Center for Faith & Public Life, the panel will include Congressman Jim Himes, representative for Connecticut's 4th District; Patrick Kelley, MD, DrPH, distinguished visiting fellow at the Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies and founder of the Forum on Global Violence Prevention, National Academies of Science; and Bradley Stolbach, PhD, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Chicago and clinical director of Healing Hurt People-Chicago, a hospital-based violence intervention program.
