Effective January 2, 2019, Carey Mack Weber will lead the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 Art Museum as the new Frank and Clara Meditz Executive Director.

鈥 Carey Mack Weber

A Westport, Conn. resident with more than 25 years of experience working in museums and galleries, Carey Mack Weber has most recently served as assistant director of the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 Art Museum. After graduating from Connecticut College with a BA in Art History, Ms. Weber spent over a decade working in fine art galleries in New York City. She started her career as a registrar at Wunderlich and Company and went on to become gallery director at Susan Sheehan Inc. and at Edward Tyler Nahem Fine Art. Ms. Weber began at 天美传媒视频无限制观看 as the visual resources curator in the department of Visual and Performing Arts. She was integral to the founding of the Bellarmine Museum of Art, where she assisted Jill Deupi, PhD, the founding director, in developing the museum’s first three years of exhibitions and programming, as well as setting up the collections management systems. Additionally, she served as interim director after Dr. Deupi’s departure, prior to the arrival of Linda Wolk-Simon, PhD.

As the interim and assistant director of the museum, Ms. Weber curated numerous exhibitions including William Kentridge: Universal Archive, Richard Lytle: A Retrospective, DANCE: Marc Mellon, Jane Sutherland, Philip Trager, Jan Dilenschneider: Dualities, Ghosts in the Landscape: Vietnam Revisited, Gari Melchers: An American Impressionist at Home and Abroad, John Mendelsohn: The Passing Paintings, and Not Ready to Make Nice: The Guerrilla Girls in the Artworld and Beyond.  In the recent exhibitions Mohamad Hafez: Collateral Damage and  #UNLOAD: Guns in the Hands of Artists, Ms. Weber has focused on expanded the social justice point of view of the museum, aligning it more closely with the mission of the University.

Ms. Weber also currently serves as the President of the , a nationally recognized partnership between 21 world-class museums and historic sites, created to promote Connecticut’s rich cultural assets as part of a travel experience. She is an active member of the American Alliance of Museums, the Association of Academic Art Museums and Galleries, the New England Museum Association, and the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.
