Fairfield alumni will return to campus to share their professional insight and career advice with students.

The College of Arts and Sciences' School of Communication, Arts, and Media will host its second annual alumni panel on Thursday, January 31, from 7 – 8 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center Oak Room. In addition to fielding questions from students, the panelists will discuss their transition from college to career and address the many ways that a liberal arts education helped them achieve their professional goals.
From an international development consultant to a digital operations manager for a major television network, this year’s four featured panelists represent a wide breadth of careers and bring together alumni and students from each of the School of Communication, Arts, and Media’s four departments: Communication, English, Modern Languages and Literatures, and Visual and Performing Arts. They include Diane (Carter) Rinfret '13, senior analyst for Tiffany & Co.; Nicole Funaro '17, online producer for Hearst Connecticut Media Group; Klevisa Kovaci ‘14, operations coordinator of the Youth Assembly, United Nations, Friendship Ambassadors Foundation; and Daniel Bruno, Jr. ’13, manager of HBO’s worldwide digital operations.
“These four alumni reflect great success stories and will share their respective journeys with our students and faculty while highlighting how their academic studies in the liberal arts contributed in myriad ways to their career path,” said Katherine Schwab, PhD, director of the School of Communication, Arts, and Media and professor of art history and visual culture. “We are finding that students stress about the magic major that will open the gates to some imagined career, but instead, our alumni have been fairly consistent in discussing the incredible combination of internships, work experiences, networking, and Core Curriculum studies, that along with their major, helped them achieve career success.”
