Join GSEAP faculty, staff, students, and alumni for Educational Technology Collaboration Day in March, and hear from motivational speaker, David Flood, in April.
The Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions is pleased to offer the following educational and inspiring events next semester. These events are free and open to the public. Registration is required.
Educational Technology Collaboration Day

10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Educational Technology Collaboration Day is an opportunity to learn how other educators are successfully using technology in the classroom. Event attendees will have the chance to meet educators from around the state including representatives from The Connecticut Commission for Educational Technology and from Apple Education. Educators can also register to share their own strategies for successfully integrating technology in the classroom.
New this year, Doug Casey, executive director of Connecticut Commission for Educational Technology, will give a talk on key trends in Educational Technology. Attendees will also learn how to become an ISTE Certified Educator through 天美传媒视频无限制观看. Lastly, teachers can now apply to bring small groups of students to showcase their skills and talents. Students who participate will be issued a digital badge and a letter of thanks for participation.

Motivational Speaker, David Flood, to Present
"Dignity & Respect: Look on the Inside"

The Special Education Program is pleased to bring top motivational youth speaker, David Flood, to 天美传媒视频无限制观看 for an engaging talk about how our community can be more inclusive. Flood’s humorous and genuine speaking style empowers both youth and adults with social and emotional skills while teaching them the crucial life skills of dignity and respect.
David’s start as a youth speaker comes from personal experience. He grew up impacted by addiction in his family, and his oldest son has autism. He is active in his church, is a hospice volunteer who visits with terminally ill patients, and he is on the board of KIDS Plus, a non-profit organization which helps special needs children through sports and other activities. David attends meetings and participates in activities with The Anti-Bias Consortium for Nassau County Schools. He is also a member of The Northport-East Northport Drug and Alcohol Task Force.
Details will be shared soon regarding this year’s Diversity Lecture which will take place in March. The Diversity Lecture Series kicked off in 2018 with multicultural education icon and scholar-activist Sonia Nieto, PhD. Dr. Nieto delivered a keynote, entitled, “Culturally Responsive Teaching: What Educators Need to Know.” Following Dr. Nieto was internationally recognized scholar, activist, and professor, Antonia Darder, PhD, who spoke last spring on the topic of “Teaching for Social Justice: Building Equity with Teachers, Students, and Parents."
