Fairfield Partners With Pilobolus Dance Company for Interactive Online Performances

Pilobolus will be featured as part of the annual Innovative Research Symposium on April 23, 2020 and will offer “quick sessions” in April and May, through the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts’ online programming.

As Fairfield has moved to online instruction for the remainder of the spring semester, the University has created innovative ways to bring uplifting online experiences to its community and beyond.

During the months of April and May, Pilobolus — the Connecticut-based modern dance company whose mission is to test the limits of human physicality — will partner with Fairfield and the Quick Center to present the following online interactive performances:

Innovative Research Symposium Concluding Celebration

Fairfield NetID holders are invited to join the Fairfield community for an online performance by Pilobolus that will embody innovation, creativity, and imagination to conclude the Innovative Research Symposium, Fairfield’s annual celebration of scholarly excellence. Get ready to move as Pilobolus delivers an interactive performance that will explore the intersection between the arts and academics through movement.

Take part in the Quick Center’s free series of programs designed to bring theatre, music, and visual arts to audience members in their homes, from world-renowned artists. Pilobolus will contribute the following two sessions, brought to the public on multiple days during April and May.

Connecting With Balance
Tuesday, April 28 and May 12, 2020 at 11 a.m.

Join us for a workshop designed to help people connect with their bodies and enhance balance through movement and dance. The teaching artist will guide participants through exercises to increase mobility, improve balance, and move creatively. This class is open to all levels of ability – even to those who wish to remain seated.

Pilobolus ‘Happy Hour’
Thursday, April 30, and May 7 and 14, 2020 at 4 p.m.

Experience a fun, informative, interactive gab session complete with artists and dancers, entertainment, history, process, and video.

Since 1971, the Pilobolus dance company has collaborated with incredible influencers, thinkers, and creators, to bring storytelling expertise to diverse communities, brands, and organizations through designed exploratory experiences.
