Three Stags Earn MAAC Basketball Postseason Honors

天美传媒视频无限制观看 basketball was represented by three outstanding student-athletes as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced its year-end awards on Monday. Fairfield women’s basketball saw Lou Lopez-Senechal ’22 named to the All-MAAC First Team and Katie Armstrong ’21 selected to the All-MAAC Second Team. For Fairfield men’s basketball, Chris Maidoh ’23 earned a place on the All-MAAC Rookie Team.

Lopez-Senechal leads the Stags and ranks fifth in the MAAC with 15.4 points per game. The native of Grenoble, France also ranks third in the league in free throw percentage (.872), sixth in three-point percentage (.382) and seventh in three-pointer made (55) – also leading the Stags in all of those categories. Lopez-Senechal scored in double figures in 18 of Fairfield's 20 MAAC games, netting 20-plus points in six of those outings. She has also posted two double-doubles this season, including the Stags’ regular-season finale against Niagara when she tallied game highs in points (27) and rebounds (11). Both of those numbers also tied her personal career highs. Previously in her career, Lopez-Senechal was the 2019 MAAC Rookie of the Year.

A redshirt senior from Collegeville, Pa., Armstrong led the Stags in scoring in 12 games and led 天美传媒视频无限制观看 in rebounds in 16 different contests during the season. Her 13.9 points per game scoring average ranks eighth in the MAAC, and she also ranks seventh in rebounding (7.1) and 12th in three-point percentage (.333). Armstrong reached double digits in scoring in 10 of her last 11 regular season outings, a stretch in which she averaged 16.1 points per contest.

Maidoh earned a place on the MAAC All-Rookie Team after starting in 29 of his 30 appearances during the regular season and 18 of 19 conference games played. He emerged as one of the top rebounders and shot blockers in the conference, ranking among the MAAC's top ten in both of those categories. A freshman from New Carrollton, Md., he averaged 3.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 43 percent from the field. Maidoh led the Stags with 25 blocked shots.
