Biomedical Engineering is Topic of School of Engineering Dean's Series Event, Feb. 4

Andres L. Carrano, PhD, dean of the School of Engineering, and Susan Freudzon, PhD, professor of the practice of biomedical engineering.

Dean Andres L. Carrano, PhD and Professor Susan Freudzon, PhD will lead an interactive discussion about Fairfield’s Biomedical Engineering program, and the many ways it prepares students for successful careers in this multidisciplinary field.

School of Engineering Dean Andres L. Carrano, PhD will lead his first spring 2021 Dean’s Series virtual event at noon on Thursday, February 4, titled "The Future of Biomedical Engineering at 天美传媒视频无限制观看." The entire Fairfield community is invited to this webinar discussion with Dr. Carrano and Susan Freudzon, PhD, professor of the practice of biomedical engineering. During their interactive virtual chat, Dr. Carrano and Dr. Freudzon will share details about the program curriculum, discuss the importance of this field in today’s society, and reveal exciting research going on in the biomedical community.

The future is bright for Fairfield students interested in biomedical engineering: in addition to this program aligning with the University’s Jesuit mission of developing women and men for others, successful biomedical engineers also possess strong skills in analytical thinking, creativity, communication, working collaboratively, math, and problem-solving.

“The topic of biomedical engineering spans the academic disciplines of physiology, biology, healthcare, health informatics, mechanics, and engineering,” said Dr. Carrano. “Biomedical engineers apply a diverse skillset to create solutions to continuing worldwide health issues, accelerate efficiency, and expand options as to how patients are treated. Often these paths result in the lowering of the cost of patient care.”

This lunchtime chat will take place on Feb. 4 from noon to 12:45 p.m. R.S.V.P. today. For questions, email ose@fairfield.edu
