Fairfield welcomed its largest first-year class in history — and returning upperclassmen — to campus during last weekend.
More than 1,200 first-year and transfer students officially began their journey here at Fairfield on Saturday, September 4. Lucas the Stag and the Spirit Squad enthusiastically greeted incoming students and their families as they arrived on campus.
Over 300 volunteers, including staff from across the University and student leaders, assisted in this effort over the weekend. Once new Stags and their families completed check-in, they were on their way to set up their new living spaces in the residence halls and enjoy a community barbecue. The day concluded with the President’s address on Bellarmine Lawn.
“Move-In Day went beyond our expectations. We successfully moved in our largest and most academically qualified first-year class. Over 300 student leaders with professional staff volunteered to support new students moving in," said Vice President of Student Life Karen Donoghue ’03.
During Move-In Week, students were treated to a variety of fun activities across campus. From sunset yoga on the library lawn, to QuadFest, to movie night and roller skating — there were entertaining activities to help just about every student get acclimated.
