A first-of-its-kind art exhibit at the Dolan School Event Hall will showcase portraits created by MS in Business Analytics students using Artificial Intelligence.

Each student artist has created their 'best-self’ portrait, drawing on the fundamental Aristotelian ethical principle of ‘eudaimonia,’ or living your best life.

Last year, Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program director and associate professor of analytics Philip Maymin, PhD, worked with his graduate students in the Charles F. Dolan School of Business to write essays using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The experiment was part of a no-code artificial intelligence class where students used OpenAI's text generator tool, GPT-3. The essays were collected and self-published in a book titled Baby AI: Cyborg Essays last October. Now, Dr. Maymin’s graduate students are using AI to develop works of art.

“Each student artist has created their ‘best-self’ portrait, drawing on the fundamental Aristotelian ethical principle of ‘eudaimonia,’ or living your best life,” said Dr. Maymin. A new self-published book has been released with this artwork, available on .

Students experimented with using new AI tools including DALL-E 2 and Stable Diffusion to create art from a text description. The self-portraits will be printed and displayed to the public on Monday, Dec. 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Dolan School of Business Event Hall. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public; .
