Fairfield Dolan welcomes the return of PwC associates and alumni to discuss the effects of imposter syndrome and how to overcome it with the help of community allies.
As part of the Fairfield Dolan Career Development Center's Professional Development Series (PDS), the campus community is invited to attend “Overcoming Imposter Syndrome and the Value of Allyship” on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 5 p.m. in the Dimenna-Nyselius Library Auditorium, room 101.
Imposter syndrome, often experienced as feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence despite one’s level of education, experience, or personal accomplishments, is a topic that has recently made headlines. Have you ever felt like you don't belong in a specific room? Or, perhaps you've second-guessed yourself on pursuing a new opportunity or questioned whether or not you deserve a job you've applied for. Associates and alumni from PwC will return to campus to discuss the effects of imposter syndrome and how to overcome it with the help of community allies. This event first debuted last spring and is back by popular demand.
PwC Talent Identification Manager Steve Alibrandi said, “[Following the event] students [will be] equipped with tricks for identifying imposter syndrome, how to overcome it, and the importance of leveraging allies throughout their professional journeys. We all need allies, and knowing how to utilize them is critical.”
Alibrandi will be joined by PwC alumni and associates to deliver an interactive presentation that will give participants actionable tools to fight imposter syndrome and strategies for pursuing the opportunities they are most excited about.
