"Les Miserables" to be staged at Quick Center for the Arts

Image: Les Miserable Set against the backdrop of revolutionary France when the poor were forced to steal bread to feed their families, 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Young Audience Series presents a thrilling new musical, "Les Miserables," on Sunday, May 7, at 1 and 3 p.m. in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The show, appropriate for children in Grades 4 through 9, will be repeated on Tuesday, May 16 at 10 a.m. as part of the Quick Center's Outreach Program.

Staged by Theatreworks/USA, "Les Miserables" is not the Broadway show but an original musical based on Victor Hugo's novel which will thrill young audiences with its story of suspense, human tragedy and redemption. The story tells of two men: Jean Valjean, convicted and imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread for his ailing mother; the other, his jailer and tormentor, Javert, who believes criminals can never change and stalks Valjean to catch him at his next crime.

Tickets to "Les Miserables" are $10 for adults, $8 for children with discounts available for subscribers and birthday parties. The Schooldays Series Outreach Program on May 16 is sponsored in part through grants from the Max and Victoria Dreyfus Foundation, Inc., the Fairfield Kiwanis Club, People's Bank and Unilever H & PC-USA.
