The Friends of 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Nyselius Library invites the public to a book discussion and reading of faculty member Michael C. White's (Ph.D.) The Blind Side of the Heart on Friday, April 14, at 3 p.m. in the library's main floor reading area.
The book tells a haunting story narrated by an Irish housekeeper who owes her redemption to a compassionate parish priest. Her loyalty and need for truth are tested when two brothers, of questionable reputations, accuse the priest of abuse. Dr. White's book is a sensitive and moving exploration of how rapidly the priest's reputation and friends dissipate once he is accused of this disturbing crime. The New York Times' book review noted, "This is no conventional whodunit, but a meditation on the mysteries of love and loyalty".
Dr. White is a professor of English and creative writing at 天美传媒视频无限制观看 and the founding editor of the annual fiction anthology, American Fiction. His first book, A Brother's Blood , was named a New York Times' Notable book.
The program is free and open to the public but reservations are necessary. Refreshments will be served. For reservations or more information call Sharon at (203) 254-4044, ext. 2180.
