Irish women artists exhibit "Contemplative Myths" at Quick Center

An exhibit, "Contemplative Myths: Images by Contemporary Irish Women Artists," is on view in the lobby of 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts through April 8. The display is part of the Quick Center's six-week, multi-event Irish Arts & Letters Festival.

On view are the works of Ann Stahl which chart the disappearance of Ireland's bogs; Joanna Kidney's collages of silks; Lara Cobden's photographs, combined with paintings; and Alice Lyons' works which are inspired by old maps, manuscripts and stories from the lives of the saints. Also on display are Karen Cotter's paintings - influenced by urban landscapes and crumbling ruins; the works of Natacha Loyer whose muse is mountains, lakes and wild flowers; and, Gemma Serry's unique etchings and lithographs which provide a surreal and often humorous interpretation of everyday life.

Viewing hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and, on performance days, Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free. For information call (203) 254-4010 or toll-free at 1-877-ARTS-396.
