Traditional and alternative care of older adults at conference

The Southwestern CT Agency on Aging and the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 School of Nursing will hold a Conference on Integrative Medicine: Traditional and Alternative Approaches to the Care of Older Adults, on Wednesday, June 7, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Geared to social workers, nurses and other providers of services for older adults, it will be held on the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 campus in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.

The speakers and their topics are: Pamela M. Peeke, M.D., M.P.H., from the National Institute of Health's Office of Alternative Medicine, "The New Science of Integrative Medicine;" Michael D. Cirigliano, M.D., assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, "Herbal Treatments: Does Mother Nature Always Know Best?;" Bernie Siegel, M.D. pediatric and general surgeon and author of "Love, Medicine and Miracles," on "How to Stay Young at Heart - the Mind and Body Connection." Michael Brennan, M.D., chief of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Bridgeport Hospital will lead a breakout session on "Pain Management: the Use of Alternate Therapies." Dr. Peeke's presentation is made possible by the generous support of Sunrise Assisted Living.
