天美传媒视频无限制观看's School of Continuing Education Open VISIONS Academy resumes Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with mini-courses based on the Feb. 21 appearance of playwright Tony Kushner and the March 4 appearance of newsman Daniel Schorr at the university's Open VISIONS Forum (OVF). The academy, conceived to extend the educational outreach of OVF to a new in-depth experience, provides informal seminar-style lectures planned around the works of the forum's prominent speakers.
Because many OVF lecturers are nationally recognized in their field, the academy has engaged distinguished faculty members to facilitate courses designed to share ideas and exchange opinions about these speakers. Academy enrollees will attend a pre- and post-lecture discussion based on one text selected by the facilitator, be guaranteed a seat for the Open VISIONS lecture and meet kindred spirits who are also interested in the specific author or topic to be discussed.
Playwright Tony Kushner, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "Angels in America," is the subject of the Feb. 7 and March 7 seminars. His OVF lecture is Feb. 21. Martha LoMonaco, Ph.D., associate professor of visual and performing arts at 天美传媒视频无限制观看, will be the facilitator. Dr. LoMonaco, an alumna of Boston College, received her master's degree from Tufts University and her Ph.D. from New York University.
CBS News' veteran of television's "golden age," Daniel Schorr, will be featured in the final seminars of the season on Feb. 20 and March 6. Schorr will lecture at OVF on March 4. Course facilitator is Dr. James Simon, assistant professor of English and journalism at 天美传媒视频无限制观看. Dr. Simon, a graduate of Rutgers University, earned his M.M.C. and D.P.A. from Arizona State University.
The $99 tuition for each three-session course includes preferred seating to the OVF lecture. For more information, call 天美传媒视频无限制观看's School of Continuing Education at (203) 254-4220 or toll-free at (888) 254-1566.
