Lauren Doyle of Willimantic, Conn. honored for work in Social and Behavioral Sciences

Lauren Doyle of Willimantic, Conn., was presented with the Award for Distinguished Work in the Social and Behavioral Sciences at 天美传媒视频无限制观看's College of Arts & Sciences Awards Ceremony.

Lauren was selected for the award for her paper entitled, "Urban Schools in Crisis," which presented a critical analysis of one of the nation's most pressing social problems, equal, high quality education for all American children. A committee of faculty found her paper to be of superior quality in argumentation, presentation and originality.

A politics major with minors in English, Peace and Justice, and Legal Studies , Lauren served as Vice President of Student Activities with the 天美传媒视频无限制观看 Student Association, as a member of the Hunger Cleanup Executive Board and as a team leader for the Peer Education Network. She is a Eucharistic Minister and traveled to Tijuana, Mexico with the Mission Volunteers.

Lauren was a student in the honors program at Fairfield and a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society. She was an intern for Congressman Christopher Shays and graduated cum laude in May.

Lauren will be attending law school in the fall and plans to combine a law degree with a master's degree in public policy. Her goal is to work in the educational public policy sector of government.
