A live radio broadcast of three one-act plays, "Classics of Crime and Mystery," will take place in 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts Wien Experimental Theatre on Saturday, April 28, at 3 and 8 p.m. The show, the second in a series of original radio broadcasts by the Quick Center, will recreate the original environment of a radio studio of the 1930s with live music and vocals, live sound effects and even "On the Air" and "Applause" signs.
The plays, part of the new Black Box Theatre Series at the Quick Center, are titled: "Gangbusters," dramatizations of actual criminal cases; "Doctor Tim, Detective," a short children's mystery show; and "Suspense," the celebrated murder and intrigue anthology which became one of the highest regarded series in radio history.
Tom Zingarelli, executive director of the Quick Center, said, "The show will recreate an exciting pre-television atmosphere when the sound, the action, even the scenery were in the mind. Those early broadcasts were overflowing with heightened drama," Zingarelli continued, "And the Quick Center's production, directed by Daniel Smith with the help of talented professional and area actors, singers and musicians, will attempt to restore that theater of the imagination. It will be a little bit of time travel, a trip to the past on the wheels of imagination."
Tickets are $15 with discounts available for seniors, students and groups. To reserve call the box office at (203) 254-4010 or toll free at 1-877-ARTS-396.
