The six-course program is designed for students interested in the field of residential interior design but not in the technical aspects of construction and structure that are part of the Interior Design curriculum. Courses in the program are non-credit only and can be taken in any sequence. The curriculum includes: Interior Design I, Color Design, History of Furniture I, History of Furniture II, Textiles for Interiors, and The Business of Interior Design. Courses are offered on a rotating schedule throughout the year. Various electives, optional lectures and seminars are also offered when appropriate, and students are encouraged to participate in the guided tour of the D&D Building in New York City, to become acquainted with the vast array of materials available to the interior decorator.
Upon satisfactory completion of the program, students will receive a certificate of completion. Students enrolled in the program will not be eligible for the Residential or Professional Certificates or ASID student membership.
