天美传媒视频无限制观看 Graduate Education program offers parents of teens free information workshops

Free workshops dealing with contemporary teen issues will be offered to parents on two consecutive Wednesday evenings, Nov. 8 and 15, from 7 to 9 p.m., by 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions. The sessions are free and open to parents who have the option of attending one or both sessions.

Each Wednesday, concurrent workshops will cover "What is my teenager doing on the computer?" "Navigating the maze of college financing: Tips for parents," and "School-based accommodations for adolescents with ADHD or ADD: Middle school to college."

The workshop on teens and computers deals with a subject that has commanded much media attention. Parents will meet in a computer lab where they can see the sites being discussed by Sandra Stock, the librarian and media specialist at Fairfield College Preparatory School and a graduate student in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions. Ms. Stock has conducted research with teenagers on their non-academic use of computers.

The workshop on college financing will be led by Jennifer Piqueira, assistant director of financial aid at 天美传媒视频无限制观看 and a graduate student in education.

Dr. Christine Siegal, assistant professor of school psychology in the Graduate School of Education, will speak with parents about adolescents with ADHD/ADD and their needs within the school setting.

As part of the workshops, parents will have the option of participating in research about parenting by completing a brief, confidential questionnaire about themselves and their adolescent.

To register for one or both Wednesday evening workshops, please contact Dr. Christine Siegel at (203) 254-4000, ext. 3125 or e-mail csiegel@mail.fairfield.edu
