School of Engineering alumni career workshop and networking event

On Saturday, Oct. 7, an event hosted by 天美传媒视频无限制观看's School of Engineering (SOE) and its Advisory Board will aim to help alumni in their job networking efforts, as well as to understand the latest engineering employment trends.

The event, entitled "Trends in Engineering Employment/Networking," will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Alumni House on Fairfield's campus. Admission is free. For details, please call the School of Engineering at (203) 254-4147.

It will include a panel discussion featuring Arthur Nemerson, chair and chief executive officer, Connecticut Technology Council; Joseph Carbone, chair and chief executive officer, Workplace, Inc., Edward J. Deak, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, 天美传媒视频无限制观看; and Mark Miller, vice president for research and engineering, Sikorsky Aircraft. Advisory Board members also will participate. Panel members will discuss engineering employment opportunities in the region, which have been both limited and challenging to those in the industry. Informal networking will follow the discussion.

Dr. Evangelos Hadjimichael, dean of the School of Engineering, said the event will serve as a workshop for alumni to help them improve their employment prospects. "The general outlook concerning engineering employment in Connecticut shows renewed prospects of robustness so we would like to be able to help our alumni improve or change jobs. We also hope to help them understand engineering employment trends in Connecticut, and how they compare to the rest of the country."

Industry executives and members of the SOE Advisory Board will attend. All engineering alumni are invited to the event. In addition, alumni will be given the opportunity to join the Fairfield Alumni Online Community and receive a gift from the Fairfield Alumni Association. Admission. The event is free, but registration is necessary.

SOE offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Software Engineering; Master of Science degrees in Management of Technology, Software Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering; and Certificate programs. Students pursue their studies on a full-time and part-time basis.
