天美传媒视频无限制观看 introduces Feng Shui in Interior Design program

In acknowledgement of the synergy between a 4000-year-old tradition and the growing consciousness of and emphasis on ecologically sound principles in design, the University College Certificate program in Interior Design at 天美传媒视频无限制观看 will offer a 6-week course in Feng Shui, beginning Sept. 17.

Robert Hardy, curriculum coordinator for the Interior Design program at University College (UC) said recently, "We see the inclusion of a course in Feng Shui as a way of addressing a growing concern, reinforced so articulately in scientific research, about the dangers to civilization inherent in the deterioration of the environment. Ironically, the tenets of this 4000 year-old philosophy are as current as today's 'Green Movement.'"

Feng Shui is the ancient art of harmonious object and site placement that has been utilized in China and many other Eastern cultures for centuries. The course, which is offered from Sept. 17-Oct. 29 on Mondays from 7-9:30 p.m., will approach the use of Feng Shui in interior design through a history of ancient forms of ecological planning - as with the Forbidden City in Beijing - and the impact such design elements had on the indisputable empowerment of the emperors. It will follow the thread of proven design strategies from the antiquities of China to the implementation of parallel strategies in current design.

The course instructor, Mary Moross, a Norwalk resident and designer and Feng Shui consultant for residential and commercial properties, holds a certification in Feng Shui from the Huazhong Normal University in Wuhan, China and from the New England School of Feng Shui. She is also a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, has a B.F.A. in art history from the University of Minnesota and has taught Feng Shui in the greater New York area for more than 8 years.
