天美传媒视频无限制观看 President Jeffrey von Arx, S.J., and four faculty members, who were all part of a contingent from the University that visited Cuba in March, will lead off a three-part series on Cuba on Monday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m., in the First Floor Lounge of the John A. Barone Campus Center. The series is free and open to the public.

Over Spring Break Fr. von Arx, Fr. Jame Bowler, S.J., and several faculty and students went to Havana to see Cuba for themselves. They met with intellectuals and journalists, spent time with the Jesuit community,saw farmers' markets, churches, and a neighborhood medical clinic, and visited many of Havana's neighborhoods. The professors who will join Fr. von Arx for this open discussion on Cuba are: C. Joy Gordon, J.D., Ph.D., professor of philosophy; Dina Franceschi, Ph.D., associate professor of economics; Jocelyn Boryczka, Ph.D., assistant professor of politics; and Gisela Gil-Egui, Ph.D., assistant professor of communication.

The Church in Cuba is the topic of discussion on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m., in the First Floor Lounge of the John A. Barone Campus Center. The speaker for this session is Father Alberto Garc铆a, S.J., Superior of the Jesuit Community, Iglesia de Sagrado Coraz贸n, in Havana, Cuba.

Dr. Barbara Riess, associate professor of Spanish at Allegheny College, rounds out the series with a discussion of "Gender as Commodity in the Post-Soviet Cuban Literary Sphere" on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m., in the Multimedia Room of the DiMenna-Nyselius Library.

The series on Cuba is sponsored by the Program in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, the Department of English, the Patrick Waide Fund and the Program in Peace and Justice.
