On Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to noon, a team of graduate students from 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Charles F. Dolan School of Business will take part in the Make-A-Wish Foundation first annual 5K 'Walk for Wishes' at the town's Jennings Beach. The team's effort is part of Fairfield's participation in the second annual National JesuitMBA Day of Service when every Jesuit MBA program across the country gives back to the community.
The non-competitive Walk, open to the public, supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, Inc. Continental breakfast, lunch, beverages, entertainment, games, and activities are planned. Participants raising $100 or more will receive a commemorative Walk for Wishes shirt and the opportunity to win other prizes. To register for the event or to make a donation, visit or call 203-254-4000, ext. 3041.
Dana A. Wilkie, Ed. D., assistant dean and director of graduate programs for the Dolan School, said that there has been tremendous interest among the JesuitMBA Network, a consortium of the programs nationwide, in undertaking this day of service. It's ultimately about seeing through the Jesuit mission of looking outward to help others and being of service to the community. "JesuitMBA Service Day is a celebration of community engagement. JesuitMBA Service Day is also a large scale effort to show how serious MBAs are about giving back to their communities and beyond."
Norm Solomon, Ph. D., dean of the Dolan School, said, "Our undergraduates participate in community service projects, and we also feel it's important that our graduate students do the same. It's about the spirit of generosity."
Michael Mondin, president of the Dolan Graduate Business Association, said taking part in the Walk for Wishes is about lending a hand to a very worthy cause.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation庐 of Connecticut grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. For more information about the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, please visit http://www.ct.wish.org.
天美传媒视频无限制观看 is one of the 27 Jesuit universities nationwide whose graduate business programs will participate in this volunteer day of service. Each school's master's degree candidates are taking on a different service work project. It is inspired by the Catholic Jesuit educational mission of 天美传媒视频无限制观看 that calls for the dynamic integration of academic excellence, social responsibility, and faith that promotes justice.
Besides the National Day of Service, the Jesuit universities have another connection to one other. That is, they have a multilateral transfer agreement whereby MBA graduate students can transfer as many as 50% of credits needed for the degree to other Jesuit universities to complete their degrees.
