Perhaps no other band has gotten more mileage out of the element of surprise than the Bacon Brothers. Through eleven years, countless gigs and five albums, these guys have shown us that they can play. The Bacon Brothers and their band take the stage on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 天美传媒视频无限制观看's Quick Center for the Arts at 8 p.m.

It should come as no surprise that Kevin, the younger of the two Bacon brothers, is a global film star, but what may not be widely known, is that the guitarist and vocalist shares a lifelong identification as a musician with his brother Michael. In addition to being a vocalist, Michael, the eldest by nine years, is a guitarist and cellist who established himself as a professional musician in the late 60s with the popular eccentric Philadelphia band, Good News' debut album on Columbia Records.

"All my heroes were guys with guitars," Kevin says, remembering his teens. "All my spare change was spent on music. I saw my brother playing out, and moving an audience and I could see how powerful music could be." For his part, Michael began early to groom his younger brother, writing chords for Kevin's words and melodic ideas. "He just seemed to have a feel for it," says Michael. He acknowledges that as time has gone on, Kevin has "worked very hard. We both have. I think that since we formed the band, both of our musical skills have gone way, way up. If he weren't my brother, and if he weren't a movie star, he would still be a fantastic partner in this endeavor."

The Bacon Brothers' sixth CD, "New Year's Day," will be available on iTunes Nov. 11. With all their hard work and undisputed success, it will come as no surprise that their skill continues to turn heads and tweak ears, harvesting an ever-growing fan base along the way.
