Julia Child biographer comes to 天美传媒视频无限制观看

Image: Dearie New York Times best-selling author Bob Spitz will visit 天美传媒视频无限制观看 on Thursday, December 6 to discuss his latest work, "Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child." The talk, to be held in the Barone Campus Center Oak Room, begins at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The event is part of The Inspired Writer, a distinguished author series of the University's MFA in Creative Writing Program, and is being presented in partnership with the Fairfield Public Library.

Spitz, who was born, lived and went to both high school and college on the same street, has gone on to a diverse career as both a musician and writer. He managed and occasionally played with Bruce Springsteen in the mid-1970s and also managed Elton John. In 1980 he turned his attention to writing and is the author of seven books, including the bestselling biography "The Beatles." His articles have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Esquire, O the Oprah Magazine and many other publications.

"Dearie" was published in August on what would have been Julia Child's 100th birthday and the book has been receiving high praise ever since. "Mr. Spitz goes beyond mere history and provides a full, human portrait of Julia," a reviewer for The Economist wrote. He "offers the reader a portrait of an epicure, and of a life profoundly full, blessed and well lived."

Spitz is now working with Graham Nash on the singer's memoir and will soon begin work on a biography of President Ronald Reagan.
