ýƵƹۿ’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts is proud to present I Said What I Said by Castle of our Skins on Sunday, March 2 at 4 p.m. The performance will feature a unique blend of music and spoken word, exploring themes of self-expression, personal agency, and creative empowerment.
Castle of our Skins, Boston’s concert and educational series dedicated to celebrating Black artistry, brings together solo and chamber works by composers Brian Raphael Nabors, Mason Bynes, Fred Onovwerosuoke, and Damien Geter, along with the poetry of the 2024-2025 Shirley Graham Du Bois Creative-in-Residence, Carmin Wong. The performance will invite the audience into an intimate space of reflection, as the music and poetry interlace to speak to the power of one’s voice in both personal and collective contexts. By highlighting works from Black composers and up-and-coming poets, Castle of our Skins celebrates the richness of Black creativity.
