Sports Performance


A quality sports performance program is an integral part of Fairfield's Athletics programs. Fairfield Sports Performance is dedicated to developing student-athletes who are stronger, faster, more powerful, flexible, and metabolically efficient while decreasing the potential for injuries.

The Sports Performance facility, one of the best in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, is designed to meet the changing needs of today's student-athletes. The facility utilizes a 4,700-square-foot facility located in the Walsh Athletic Center for exclusive use by student-athletes.

How Sports Performance Works:

  • Responsible for supervising, developing, and implementing workouts to ensure varsity student-athletes reach team and individual performance goals.
  • Place teams on sport-specific, periodical training programs.
  • Work closely with the Sports Medicine Department to provide individualized attention for student-athletes who have specific needs or require injury rehabilitation.

Sports Medicine


The Sports Medicine Department at 天美传媒视频无限制观看 is a vital part of the student-athlete experience. The staff is comprised of five Nationally Certified Athletic Trainers, including three full-time and two graduate assistant trainers.

Benefits of the Sports Medicine Department Staff

  • Provide student-athletes with information, and teach techniques, for proper conditioning and nutrition
  • Supervise and conduct any physical therapy and rehabilitation protocols that a student-athlete may need to safely return to competition
  • Manage support staff consisting of a variety of first-rate medical and health professionals


The dedicated support staff provide invaluable Strength and Conditioning services to injured or ill student-athletes and are readily-available for consultations. The support staff includes the following medical professionals:

  • Orthopedic physicians
  • Dentists
  • A plastic surgeon
  • Neurologists
  • A dermatologist
  • Cardiologists
  • An ophthalmologist
  • A sports psychologist
  • A sports nutritionist
  • Physical therapists


The Sports Medicine facility is located in the Walsh Athletic Center, where Mark Ayotte, director of Sports Medicine, supervises the day-to-day activities for more than 450 student-athletes in 20 intercollegiate Athletics programs.
